We are undertaking DIY repair of our aft air conditioning unit on our sailboat. Preparing for an impending hurricane, which also necessitates renting a vehicle for supplies. Notably, hurricanes are a pertinent concern, particularly for sailboat residents, and we are currently facing one.

Okay guys I'm back here in the back room and you know I had to replace the front AC pump because it was leaking
0:08
But the back AC pump I think got working so let's show you what I did
0:12
So the back AC pump is right here It's got a connection right here. So it's a good place to connect a water maker. That's a good deal for us
0:21
But this pump it was stopped turning so I took off all the connections on it
0:27
See one right there took off the connection and I just spun this pump around
0:33
Then I put it in fresh water and I ran it and it ran good
0:37
So maybe we salvaged this one. Okay, I got it installed. Right now I'm just running it to this cord
0:46
It plugs into the AC right there. Let's go see if it's pumping outside
0:50
Okay, well the pump is not pumping anything out. So now I'm going to take the end off right there, pull it up on the other side
0:58
I'm gonna run Barcluster through the AC. Okay, so I have this end unplugged right here and I can pull it through up there
1:08
It's got zip ties on it. I had to cut them zip ties off
1:12
You see them right there. Now, of course, I got a mess on the back of our boat
1:18
because I had to empty out the sugar scoop area because they had to crawl down there
1:23
If you go down in here, there's our AC. Yeah, pull that one pipe up, take that one, it's going out to the boat, and yeah, gear done
1:38
Now, of course, I'm going to use this kit. This was my tankless hot water heater kit, but I've been using it to run Barriclebuster through
1:46
It's been doing a great job. If you're interested in this kit, I'll leave the link down below, but Chromex and works for Barbarcobuster, for Pump
1:57
for uh... anything de-scaling tankless hot water heaters, a lot of jobs this will do
2:06
Okay guys, so I have the pump in here. This is the hose that I pulled out of our back after cabin, going to the pump perd
2:16
got it ran the bucket. I have a line connected there with a connector and it's plugged into the out water somewhere
2:27
flow the miracle buster through this thing. So now I'm going to add our precious water to the bucket
2:38
And see if we get flow before I put barricle buster in there
2:45
Instead of running a power cord all the way back here, I have the generator back here. So I'm just going to crank this up
2:54
Let me turn this on. There we go. And, boogie. And it looks like we have watercloth
3:13
Now we'll add some barricleb
3:25
Now I'm going to add some Barclub. Baracle Buster. If you're on a boat in the ocean, get you some of this. Good stuff
3:34
Okay, we've got to pour it in there. You can see the bubbles now. And we're just going to let this run
3:40
We're using nothing off our generator though. Okay, so we've been running Baracle Buster through the system for about an hour
3:46
I'm going to go ahead and shut it down and I'm going to flush the Baracle Buster out with some theme wire
3:56
Okay, now I have it plumbed out so I can run fresh water through here
4:04
Well, it looks like my drain going out of the boat is clogged or something, so I got to figure that out
4:11
Fun, boat life. Okay, so this is the pipe that connects to the outside of the boat
4:17
I got water to flow through it. And up here, I cleaned the outside of the out
4:26
Now get me a little screwdriver, I'm gonna see if I can clean the inside, see if I can get waterflow
4:32
There looked to be like a dirt diver nest I put the screwdriver up in there So hopefully I got it broke up so it come the rest of the way out Okay we all connected up in there
4:45
I have that connected. And this is where I am. I'm down in here
4:50
So it is quite cramped in here. And there we go. We have water coming out
4:57
No way out of water. Okay, finally we're in our bedroom. And we're going to connect this pump back up
5:02
here and there's my hose. Let's see if this comes down. There we go. And that's going to stay right there
5:16
And this will plug in the top. Okay. Or I may clip it over like that. Okay, I opted to bring on its side
5:26
Now I'm going to power out and see if it runs. And now I'll plug it back into our AC plug right there
5:32
Yeah And that's just me sweating Mostly Okay, so I open the
5:40
Seacock on this one, yeah, I got water everywhere And then I'll go ahead and plug this in
5:46
It's running
5:55
Let's go see if we have water outside And now We have water come out for the ice
6:02
see. We're going to crank out and see how it works. Okay, so I'm just going to unplug this
6:09
I'm going to plug it in to its cord right over there
6:14
And I'm going to put the other hose clamp on it. And then we'll see if it comes on with the AC
6:22
And the AC cools. Okay, so we got everything plugged in and I got the other hose clamp on there
6:30
Now I'm going to just close this up. up and now we turn this on hopefully it works okay and the generator has picked up
6:45
up there we go this does not have a soft star right whew I'm sweating so oh I
6:58
can't already feel it cooling down Oh, that feels so good. And I'm also charging the battery at 7.5 amps with the AC on
7:09
And there it goes. So, mission successful. Only took a whole day
7:19
Okay, it's been running for a good bid now. Well, not a good bit, but it's been running for about 10 minutes
7:28
And getting really cool in here. It is, you can definitely tell it's running that the generator
7:35
Eventually I'm gonna try to wire this off the batteries, at least the rear one
7:41
The front one, this one's 9,000 VDU, the front one's 16,000. So this would use about maybe 900,000 watts
7:53
And with, we have, well, with our, battery pack is 10 kilowatts so with a full charge we can ride for a while but likely
8:06
we have a full charge out here but also it's going to cycle so I'm gonna do some experiment once I
8:13
experimentation once I get that wired in to see actually how long I can run this on our battery
8:22
pack which is 800 amp 12 volt okay guys me and my wife we're sitting out here at Docks
8:29
Bayhouse waiting for Enterprise come pick us up because we're going to run a car this uh way too much chores to
8:36
way too much so we we got the dog on the boat with the AC running and uh freaking out a
8:43
little bit yeah and we hooked her up with some CBD so hopefully she she relaxes and falls
8:50
asleep yeah but let's uh let's get in this enterprise another thing I love about this
9:00
bar that friendly. Okay guys, the Enterprise picked us up and this is in style
9:10
Oh my gosh Anytime I go for a pickup if there something dirty and nice I always just kind of magically find those keys We had a Porsche Cayenne last week that I did a lot of pickups
9:23
I bet. So we got our real car, Pleasant Experience Enterprise, basically in and out really quick
9:32
Now we're off to Tradry Supply because that's where we get our puppy's dog food
9:37
She likes the four health, and that's the only thing that really keeps her skin healthy and all that good jazz
9:44
Puppies' favorite food for health. Life's hit in her favorite place, the grocery store
9:57
I'm not looking forward to putting it all in the dingy and bringing it back to the boat and then having to find a place forward on the boat
10:03
Okay, we were in Dunlop Publix, maybe to take it back to a car place
10:08
But my gosh, look at that. The awesome thing was Brisket was 2.24 a pound
10:18
$2.99. I'm sorry, I was off. But that is pretty damn good
10:24
I've never seen it. I don't know how I'm cooking enough. It might fit in my outfit
10:29
We're going to cut in thirds. And then back to the boat
10:35
Our puppy made it through. She's stricken wire now. She had water inside
10:40
She just doesn't drink her eat when we're gone. Are you all good
10:45
Okay, how are you going to go? So excited. And this is our hall
10:56
So, yeah. Okay, this is my job after the groceries are in the house
11:02
Just sit here out of the way. My wife takes care of the rest
11:07
So we're definitely not vegetarians. Are we ever
11:18
No, no. The mainly eat chicken and beef. Sometimes we eat pork
11:24
It's on sale, but actually pork makes my stomach hurt, so I try that. Yeah
11:31
Yeah, this is almost done. take back the car and be done with it okay guys this was the Enterprise awesome
11:46
place you're in around this area Merit Island Florida check them out I hook you up
11:52
and this is the guy you heard this morning awesome dude thank you're welcome
12:00
thank you though yes okay guys And now, what is this
12:10
Yeah, let me show you these blades. There's supposedly the red boat that made it through a hurricane
12:16
He's over there and broke. I mean, it is, really? Really. It is bad right now
12:25
But this is what we're looking like, and yeah, it's just beating us down
12:32
I was about to start the engine. But here's my babe, she's like..
12:42
It's like Hurricane 2. What on Earth is going on? Let me see if this engine starts
12:50
Oh, she's down here. Okay, our engine starts and she's a spitting, so..
12:56
What? You need to go downstairs. Our dog just came out here
13:00
I got her finger back downstairs. We gotta go down there. Come on, come on
13:05
Go downstairs, fellow. I don't know. There was a red bow over there
13:15
This wind has gone. I don't know. There was a red bow over there, and it's gone
13:28
This wind has ripped out. And, uh... you look at that cabran over there how he's hobby horsing this is a pretty big ways and it has
13:44
insane we went from 90 degrees to now it feels like it like 60 out here and just the wind this is hail We just got finished grocery shopping I glad it didn do this while we were out there
14:02
trying to provision. It looks like this is uh the winds that died down but we're still getting a
14:11
lot of lightening it out here. Shut down the engine because we ain't moving nowhere, so it's kind of smelling like diesel in here
14:20
But it is a lot of lightning. Yeah, uh, uh, uh, sailing breezy baby just called us
14:29
And yeah, that red boat is out there on the rocks. So again, they made it through the hurricane
14:37
It's just, you never know. Okay. So that red boat is right over there
14:44
on the rocks. I'm going to have it right there. I'm like to get out of the rain
14:48
Yeah. My baby's tired of this weather. It's, what the heck
15:02
In the same hurricane season from like June until like November, we didn't see anything in June, nothing in July, nothing in August, or the end September
15:11
and then all of a sudden we're getting hit with, we didn't even know this was coming
15:18
We knew it was going to rain, but rainstorms are just rainstorms
15:24
We didn't know some kind of tropical or whatever. Yeah, this was some period
15:30
It wasn't even on the news or anything. No. I saw it come in on windy, but windy didn't have any of the wind speeds right
15:41
No, we, that was pretty terrible again. Yeah. Well, the dog was running away from haircut because it's haircut time
15:54
And we use this vacuum groomer. And it works pretty good. Keeps the hair down
16:01
It's a little woman there doing dishes. But it keeps the hair down
16:09
And it's quiet enough where it won't really scare as much. She doesn't like it
16:17
But on me, I used to use one of these. And this makes a mess
16:22
And so I started using this. I just cleaned the attachment. Use it on my hair too
16:28
But it works great. And no mess. And Decht, with Dex Water Adventure, was here
16:34
He said he's going to get one because he has to get his air outside
16:39
So let's get this thing started. So, and you can find these all over the web
16:45
I do like this one because the clippers are powered from here
16:51
I've seen ones where the clippers have a battery on. Who wants to mess with charging something when you don't have to
16:58
Because you have to plug this in anyway. So we're going to, I'm going to go on low because it won't be as traumatic for her
17:08
but she's already pat. Okay. It's not that bad. You can't even hear it
17:18
You like it anyway. Now we're both cool
17:30
She got a haircut. Let me brush her a little bit because she's still got some hair coming out
17:34
But just ignore the tiger stripes. Because we're using the lowest attachment and she's fat and kind of sucks it up so it gets closer in some areas than others
17:46
But it keeps her cool and that's all we're going for now I'm gonna brush her out and I'm gonna be done this comes with a whole bunch of attachments
17:55
Of course you know you can get these on Amazon I'll leave a link for this one down below, but there's a ton to choose from
18:08
Thank you
